| Nunsense Amen! |
|
admin writes, "WALLACE, Id -- The Little Sisters of Hoboken have performed on the Sixth Street Theater stage five times, twice in “Nunsense”, twice in “Nunsense II”, and in the Christmas production “Nuncrackers.” This November, they are returning, but this time with a twist."

“Nunsense A-men!” provides a new twist with an all male cast in this production of the original hit musical.
The script is the same as the original “Nunsense”, with the sisters as the only survivors of a cooking accident that poisoned all the other nuns. Four victims are yet to be buried and are still in the freezer because the Mother Superior spent some of the funeral money on a VCR. The remaining nuns put on a show to raise money to bury them.
The show is directed by Vern Hanson and Joy Persoon, “We want to encourage local theater goers to reserve their tickets early, so they can see this production,” said Hanson. “Last spring when the theater performed ‘Home on the Grange’, a lot of locals were not able to see it because of shows selling out. “We don’t want our local fans missing out on this fall’s production.”
Hanson said the first Sunday of November is already full, and opening night is quickly filling up as well. Because of the success of the previous “Nunsense” productions, he anticipates this to be just as successful.
Besides directing, Hanson is also one of the “nuns with a twist”, playing the part of Mother Superior. The other sisters are Sixth Street theater veterans Don Sauer, Ken Bartle and Paul Roberts, as well as new comer Danny Treend. The five men will provide an evening of delightful entertainment through song, dance and a few other surprises.
The musical will be presented the first three weekends in November, with opening night on Friday, November 3 at 7 p.m. continuing through the weekend with a 7 p.m. performance on Saturday, Nov. 4, and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Nov. 5. Other performances are Nov. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.
