Sixth Street Theater To Perform Comic English Murder Mystery

Ghosts, graves and murders are all a part of the upcoming English Murder Mystery Comedy to be performed by the Sixth Street Theater this spring.
The theater will perform “Madam’s Been Murdered, Tea Will Be Late,” the first three weekends in March, with performances on March 2, 3 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18, with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 p.m., and Sunday matinees beginning at 2 p.m.
The setting for the play is Houndstooth Manor, an old, drafty English Manor that has been turned into an inn. The inn is run by two sisters, Margaret Fenster and Mary Tyler. As guests begin to arrive to stay at the old manor house, murders begin to happen. Soon a local police inspector shows up to interview those staying at the Manor, and find the killer.
Those on the suspect list are four servants, including Epsworth, the butler, MacDonald the gardener, Madge the crabby chambermaid, and Elzbeth the talkative cook. Some of the inn’s guests are also suspect. This includes Major Armbrewster, a stodgy and pompous curmudgeon, Matilda Trent, a retired school teacher, and Mark and Trisha Jacobs, two pushy Americans.
But there are suspects close to home as well, including the sisters’ own cocky nephew, Bobby Totter, and a seductive, manhunter neighbor named Katie Balfour, a scraggily fisherman named Jagmaster, and a typical English physician named Dr. Thorndyke.
All are thoroughly investigated by Inspector Milo, a Scotland Yard detective.
